Enniscorthy Community Allotments has gained another remarkable achievement, winning the prestigious Best Community Health Initiative award at the All Ireland Community and Council Awards in Clonmel. This accolade is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and collaborative spirit exhibited by the entire team involved in this outstanding initiative. Enniscorthy Community Allotments has made a significant impact in promoting health and well-being among its community members by offering opportunities for individuals and families to engage in sustainable and organic gardening.
One Enniscorthys biggest success stories of recent times has to be the Enniscorthy Community Allotments, the brainchild of Michael Devereux, the allotments were designed to create an outlet to empower green-fingered, environmentally-aware people throughout Enniscorthy. Since opening in April they have been the winners of four prestigious awards including “Best Overall Entry” at the Environment Awards 2022 and most recently the “Best Community Health Initiative”
Well done to Michael and all the team behind this project. A vision for Enniscorthy Community Allotments which Michael shared with local Cllr. Aidan Browne and together they set about making it a reality for the district of Enniscorthy.
