Gillen’s Cafe

Award-winning Wexford Chef Warren Gillen bucking the trend of hospitality closures as he returns to his roots to open the doors to new Enniscorthy eatery @Gillenscafe – the talented chef and former owner of Cistin Eile, in Wexford town, (well known for being one of the best restaurant in the region) two years ago, he took a break from running the busy kitchen and spent some time with his family.
During this break, the dream of a of a contemporary cafe was born and today, that dream is a reality.

Speaking about the opening, the chef is delighted with how things have been going so far. “The support of the people in Enniscorthy and the surrounding areas has been overwhelming —it’s fantastic to see,” he shared.

The cafe will draw on several key factors: the use of the highest quality local ingredients, a thriving coffee culture, complementing their exclusive blend of premium Arabica beans, roasted in small batches by Silverskin Coffee Roasters – at this venue the coffee is every bit as important as the food, and this commitment, along with their dedicated local team, will hopefully make this café a poplar location for residents. When discussing the menu, Warren emphasised that it was carefully crafted with the hope that customers would find it not only reasonably priced but also appreciate that everything is homemade
